Techtronic Industries proudly presents a collaboration with AmCham for the "AmCham Women in Engineering Scholarship 2023"

Ho Chi Minh City, September 23, 2023 - Techtronic Industries Vietnam (TTI Vietnam), in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham Vietnam) in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang awarded 60 scholarships, each worth VND 15 million to outstanding female students who achieved the highest results throughout the assessments of the "AmCham Women in Engineering Scholarship 2023" (ACWES 2023).

This is the second consecutive year TTI Vietnam has partnered with AmCham to carry out this meaningful program. By supporting and encouraging female students to study and research in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), the scholarship program is one of TTI's activities to promote developing high-quality human resources and fulfill commitments to diversity and inclusion. This scholarship presentation ceremony was honored with the attendance of Mr. James Ollen, Executive Director of AmCham in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, representatives of sponsors, university leaders, and notably, the participation of two female leaders at TTI, Mrs. Tran Thuy Linh An, Vice President of Human Resources and Strategic Projects, and Ms. Sharon Lixu, Senior Vice President of Facilities Operations and Projects Management.

The "AmCham Women in Engineering Scholarship 2023" program

Established in 2011, ACWES is a part of the community activities of AmCham and AmCham members operating in manufacturing, engineering, and training to support and develop female human resources in high-tech fields in Vietnam. After 12 years, the program has awarded 515 scholarships to excellent female students majoring in STEM. Besides financial aid, the program offers chances for students to approach companies partnered with the program and to explore job opportunities from high-tech companies.

In 2023, the program targets female bachelor’s degree students at their last two academic years of their undergraduate program at universities in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Dong Nai, and Binh Duong. The groups of major eligible for the program include Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Information Technology, Material Technology, Applied Sciences, and Industrial Engineering.

In addition to providing financial support, TTI Vietnam also hopes to bring internship opportunities and guidance to female students receiving ACWES. This helps them receive support and guidance from experts and leaders in the industry to enhance and develop their skills.
