Techtronic Industries Vietnam cooperates with Habitat for Humanity Vietnam join hands to build a charity house in Tien Giang province

On the morning of May 27, 2023, Techtronic Industries Vietnam (TTI) partnered with Habitat for Humanity Vietnam (Habitat) on a house building trip to Binh Xuan Commune, Go Cong District, Tien Giang Province.   This is in response to build a stable and decent place for the needy in that community.

Although it is known that the people's life in Tien Giang province is gradually improving day by day, there are still many households who are facing difficulties in housing, affected by natural disasters, and need support from the local authorities. This is part of a project to strengthen climate change adaptation that TTI has joined hands and sponsored with Habitat Vietnam.

On behalf of Techtronic Industries in Vietnam, I would like to express my gratitude to Go Cong District People's Committee, Habitat for Humanity Vietnam, the local community and volunteers for the valuable support they have given TTI in the past time."

Volunteers at TTI Vietnam worked together to mix mortar and install floors

"Even though I'm not a professional house builder, the sensation of manually mixing mortar and laying the foundation alongside the volunteers for Mrs. Chau and her daughter gives me an indescribable feeling of happiness. This will undoubtedly marks an important episode in my journey at TTI”, said Mr. Bui Khac Thinh, a volunteer with TTI Vietnam.

TTI commenced operations in Vietnam since August 2018. Until now, TTI has developed an operational footprint across the country with more than 9,000 employees (as of December 2022), 8 manufacturing facilities, a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, and Milwaukee Heavy-Duty Centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi respectively. TTI sees Vietnam as a place where it will make a long-term connection and share responsibility with the community. Therefore, the company always set business goals along with social responsibility to create positive impacts and contribute to sustainable development for Vietnam.

The connection with the community is also reflected in the projects for the community that TTI has carried out over the years. One of these initiatives is the partnership between Habitat for Humanity and TTI to provide housing support, WASH facilities, and disaster relief to vulnerable communities in Go Cong and Tien Giang in 2020 - 2021. In 2022, TTI and Habitat for Humanity kick-started a project to extend support to improve health, living environment, and climate change for the ethnic minority communities in Thai Nguyen and Tien Giang. By the end of October 2023, it is estimated that 100 families will be provided with new houses and WASH facilities whilst over 150 students will be benefited with a new latrine. Training workshops and communication campaigns under the program will also help almost 1580 people increase their knowledge and skills on how to build a safe house and safeguard their families’ hygiene and health.

TTI Vietnam will continue to mark the humanistic activities on the path of sustainable development for the community through its strong contributions to ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) in order to achieve the group’s strategic objectives.
